FULTON, Mo. - Madison Taggart scored the first-ever goal in women's lacrosse history in the home opener against Benedictine.
The squad lost 22-1 in the opener, but still made great strides according to Westminster Head Coach Kristi Crowley.
"This was a great game for learning," said Crowley. "The girls kept a positive attitude throughout the game and left everything out on the field."
In the middle of the second half, Taggart drove through the middle of the net and sailed the ball through the defense for the first goal of the season for the Blue Jays.
"We look forward to applying what we learned from this game in preparation for out upcoming games," said Crowley.
Peyton Hall started in goal and made 14 saves for Westminster.
The Blue Jays return to action March 2 at St. Mary's.
