Columbia, MO, 3/6/2022 – The Westminster College baseball team was looking to bounce back from dropping the first two games of their four-game set with Loras College.  The Blue Jays turned to Kaleb Hinkle-Pruett (Alton, IL / Roxana) to turn the tide on the mound.  After allowing three runs in the first inning, he settled down and turned in six solid innings to keep the Blue Jays in the game.  Unfortunately, the Jays could only muster two runs on six hits and fell to the Duhawks 4-2.

After the three run first inning Hinkle-Pruett would give the Duhawks only a single unearned run scattering six hits over the next five innings.  His official stat line reads that he worked six innings giving up four runs, three earned, on ten hits.  He walked one and struck out one.

The Blue Jays would cut into the Duhawk lead in the second inning. Hayden Hirschvogel (Jefferson City, Mo. / Jefferson City) singled with one out.  With two out, Hirschvogel advanced to second on a passed ball.  Coltin Green (Jefferson City, Mo. / Jefferson City) doubled to left center to score Hirschvogel and cut the lead to 3-1.

The Duhawks would add a run in the fourth inning before the Blue Jays would strike back in the fifth inning.  Austin Mayton (Wentzville, Mo. / Fort Zumwalt North) would get things started with a single.  Green would follow with a single and the Jays were in business.  A double play ball would send Mayton to third base and Zach Wolken (Jefferson City, MO / Helias) would come through with the two out RBI single to score him.  The run cut the Duhawk lead to 4-2.  Unfortunately, that would be all the Blue Jays could get.
